About Me

Alex Ackroyd has been living and working in the Bay Area for 15 years. She graduated from UCSB with a Bachelors of Science in Statistics in 2012. Since then, she spent year and a half dabbling in the startup scene designing mobile apps and founding a non-profit in San Francisco and Palo Alto. She developed a passionate interest in LEAN process improvement, so she found a role that had aspects of business excellence and advanced analytics as a Materials Analyst at Flex. Growing at Flex she joined the Analytics Enablement group in Flex IT, where she provided strategic and technical insight, design, development, training, and infrastructure to support analytics needs across all corporate functional groups and structural levels. Getting antsy in the IT ivory tower, she left Flex to join Lam Research in August 2017 as an Industrial Engineer/Data Scientist in the volume manufacturing division.

Alex is currently a student in the UC Berkeley Master of Engineering evening program at the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership, studying Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

Outside of work, Alex has a passionate love for the outdoors, travel, and dance. Her favorite places are high alpine meadows and art museums, and she spends her free time dancing the night away in salsa clubs.
